The user experience field is all about creating a user centered design and focusing on what your visitors want to achieve. It is also all about making less asumptions and taking good design choices with the user in mind.

Which road leads to their goal?
If this field of user centered design is new to you I highly reccomend you to read the very well written fable(short story) about a young man who wants to learn how to please his visitors. A fable that gives you an overview of the user experience (UX) field and which factors that are most important:

What do you want your visitors to do?
To often people have the mindset of : “If you build it, they will come.” and this is often also true about getting your visitors to complete goals or perform specific tasks like:
- Purchasing a product
- Registering for service
- Calling you on the phone
- Downloading a brochure
Sadly, this is rarely the case and recent studies from Google shows that you need to grab your vistors attention within 5-8 seconds. After that you will loose 50% and more. User experience is about building for your users.
If you don’t give your user immidiate results for what they are trying to do, you will loose them fast
